This amount is equivalent to 2 thousand 310 minimal wages and will have to be paid in certified check to the Secretariat of Environment and Natural resources.

The resolution number 101/09 establishes that the decision was founded on reports written by a commission which made research after a denunciation of the community deposited on March 11.

This commission was formed by the SEMARENA, the Office of the Prosecutor for the Defense of Environment and of Natural resources, the National Service of Environmental Protection (SENPA) and the Head office of the Tourist Police (POLITUR).

The inspections showed the existence of a puddle waters pool, with stinking perfume and with material in decomposition, which ran from the hotel, over the road and slipped then directly towards several points of wild life refuge, situation admitted by the management of the hotel. The puddle pool, coming from the treatment plant of the hotel, had been already there for several days, which was checked by the presence of algae in the sector.

The management pled that the system of filtration doesn’t’ have the sufficient capacity of assimilation to treat the flows of the treatment system.

The hotel complex, which is recidivist in this type of violation, was notified by a sanction by which one ordered the total closure until the Gran Oasis Hotel obtains the corresponding environmental authorization, emitted by the SEMARENA.

The closing will remain in force as long as SEMARENA will not grant an authorization of resumption of the activities, considering that the hotel did not operate with the corresponding environmental licence.
