Tourist sectorBREAKING NEWS: Some 3.500 people took part this Sunday in the fair of employment organized by the Secretariat of Work at the Regional University Center of the East (CURE) to cover the 1.700 work stations for the tourist area.
The applicants, who arrived from various areas of the country, presented their services to Punta Cana Resort and Club, Complexe Barceló Bávaro, Catalonia Bávaro, Royal Catalonia, Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana, Grand Paradise at the Club, Gran Iberostar Bávaro, Majestic Resort, Natura Park, Occidental Gran Flamenco Punta Cana, Gran Oasis Punta Cana representatives and to Scubacaribe, all forming part of the Hotel and Toursit Projects of the East Zone Association.
The Secretary of Work, Max Puig, chaired the event and indicated that the fair tries to link the job offers with the job applications.
He ensured that the Government allowed the implementation of public policies so that more and more Dominicans are finding a decent and worthy work, which enables them to satisfy their needs and those of their family.
The 2nd Fair of Employment, organized by the Head Office of Employment trough the the National Service of Employment, was sponsored by the Inter-American Bank of Development (BID) and the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID).
Among the sectors having work stations available there were those of the services of reception, public relations, telephone station, cooking, sales, animation, maintenance, bars and restaurants, SPA and security.
The people with experience and formation in the tourist activities were directly interviewed by the persons in charge of the various sectors of work of the participating hotels.

For the fourth time of the weekBREAKING NEWS: An earthquake of 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on last Saturday in the Cabo Engaño-Bávaro zone, confirmed the Geological Service of the United States (USGS). The seism, the fourth of this week felt in the zone, was recorded at 7:58 a.m. at latitude 18.5 degrees North and longitude 68.3 degrees West.
Another tremor of 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on last Thursday almost at the same place.
For two weeks, one recorded an intense seismic activity in the Milwaukee pit, in the north of Puerto Rico and in sectors closer to the Dominican Republic.
Basic tremors intensity were recorded in the south and the south-east of Saona Island, in San Rafael de Yuma and in the north and the north-east of Miches and Sabana de la Mar.

Operation headed by agents of Tourism PoliceBREAKING NEWS: HIGÜEY.- The authorities, hoteliers and representatives of several organizations will conduct an operation to keep vendors from continuing to trespass in the areas of the hotels to harass tourists and to prevent the urban decay of the Bavaro-Punta Cana tourism region
The operation will be headed by agents of Tourism Police, which was reinforced in the zone, after enforcing a ban on vendors working less than 60 meters from the hotels.
The actions have been led by Tourism vice minster Virgilio Cedano; Altagracia province governor Luis Rafael Cedeño; Labor vice minister, Pedro Rojas Morillo; the unionist Manolo Ramirez and Assistant prosecutor Elizabeth Rijo.
